The story

Nathaniel Leroy Posey III was born on December 31, 2005 in Cleveland, Ohio — a city that rewards people who build things and outwork the room. He was born with optic nerve hypoplasia (ONH), a rare congenital condition in which the optic nerve is underdeveloped or absent at birth. It is the kind of diagnosis that tends to lower expectations. In Nate's case, it raised them.

At twelve he started selling, serving and solving problems for paying customers. In 2017 he formalized the work as Nate Posey & Co. He learned pricing, follow-through and reputation the only way that sticks: by carrying the consequences himself. That discipline is still the company's operating standard — quote the number, explain the plan, finish the job.

The turn toward technology

The pivot came from the work itself. Every client bottleneck Nate ran into was, at its root, a technology problem: brittle spreadsheets, unreliable networks, manual processes that ate entire workdays. Rather than outsource the answer, he went and learned it.

At sixteen he enrolled in formal software engineering education — architecture, data structures, systems design, secure development, production deployment. For someone navigating ONH, that meant mastering code and infrastructure through screen readers, magnification, memory and structure. The result was an engineer who thinks in systems rather than screens, and a founder who can sit on both sides of the table: the P&L and the terminal.

Nate Posey & Co grew accordingly — from repairs and installs into full enterprise technology: artificial intelligence, custom software, cloud, networking, cybersecurity, data engineering and fully managed IT. One firm, one accountable team, no vendor translation layer.
